Moving, Bonding, Growing Up!
My One Month Milestone

At 1 month old, I am adjusting nicely to my new home environment.
I study faces, recognize familiar voices and make uncontrolled head, leg and hand movements.
Here's some interesting titbits about me:
  • I love to be held and rocked in the glider.
  • I can move my head upright and lift my legs up high during tummy time.
  • I have a serious case of the hiccups after being fed.
  • I make lots of squirmy noises in my crib.
  • I suck on my fingers as a show of hunger.
  • I smile occasionally while sleeping.
  • On one occasion, I actually slept through a head shampooing.
  • When held upright in a standing position, I naturally try to step out as if walking.

    Of a Better Tomorrow.

Here are some new things my parents learnt while taking caring for me:
  • I enjoy being swaddled from the waist down, but on cold nights I appreciate someone tucking my hands under the swaddle.
  • My feeding patterns are usually predictable so I expect to be fed in a timely manner or I will start crying hysterically.
  • I appreciate having a fleece fitted sheet on my crib since the thin cotton fitted sheets are too cold. This annoys me.
  • I don't particularly like taking baths but I do enjoy being massaged with the baby lotion.
  • I truely detest the pacifer. They serve to silence me when I really need to be heard. Pacifiers are also like empty milk bottles - great teasers for newborns.
  • My diaper changing pad has to be overlaid with a towel or else I will feel too cold and aggitated.
  • Whenever I take a sponge bath I expect that each washed body part be immediately dried so that I am not left in the cold.
  • If I do not burp immediately after feeding please lay me in my crib and then try to burp me again in a couple minutes. Swallowing air is not my cup of tea.
  • Sometimes my nails are too long and since I enjoy passing my hands across my face, I would be thankful if my nails are occasionally filed.
